CyberFair and Entrepreneurship Exhibits at Nebraska State Fair
This was the 5th annual CyberFair event, and for the second year, the Nebraska Entrepreneurship Task Force (FutureForce Entrepreneurship Career Pathway) and NDE Entrepreneurship Education were invited to participate.
The CyberFair is not just about technology. In fact, it has a major focus on entrepreneurship, especially youth entrepreneurship.
Special Entrepreneurship Exhibits included:
- Nebraska Entrepreneurship Education, FutureForce Nebraska and Nebraska Career Connections had a shared exhibit with a wealth of free materials, and a laptop for exploring the websites of these three partners. Also displayed was information about Southeast Community College Center for Entrepreneurship and HomeTown Competitiveness Initiative.
- EntrepreneurShip Investigation (ESI) curriculum project display and theater. ESI is 4-H curriculum project that is currently being piloted across the state by Extension Agents and middle school teachers. This summer, writers also came together to develop project curriculum for elementary level students. The next phase will be high school.
- Nebraska Youth (and Adult) Entrepreneurs Tables: A special opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to share information about their products/services.
Other exhibits in the CyberFair were:
- Dell Computer (15+ Dell laptop computer stations where fairgoers checked out the 4-H CyberFair site, ESI Curriculum Site, and special sites like FutureForce Nebraska, Nebraska Career Connections, and our NDE Entrepreneurship Education website, as well as others.
- Operation Military Kids: Outreach effort to assemble Hero Packs filled with mementos and items designed to connect kids with their deployed family member
- 4-H Curriculum
- Zavix interactive health and wellness game center
- Animal Sciences 3-D interactive center
- Interactive Sports Shooting Gallery
