Introduction - Making Cents of It

Educator's Manual

 

Lessons in the "Making Cents of It!" curriculum will provide an opportunity for 2nd and 3rd grade youth to gain an understanding of money. Youth will learn about the history of money and where money comes from, and recognize different denominations of currency and coin. Learners will count and identify money, discuss wants and needs, experience goal setting and learn about savings. Youth will learn key money terms, develop good consumer buying skills and will actively participate in making purchases and counting change.


Project Goal

Help America's youth gain an understanding of the basics of money management and develop sound financial habits for life.
