Activity #1 - Finding Job and Salary Information

 

• Print off the “No Place Like Home” worksheet.

 

• Draw for an occupation and state from the Occupations and States pdf files or select an occupation from the list and a state from the state list.

 

• Using the web site: Salary & Benefits locate your occupation, write a brief description of that job and necessary education, and the median salary for that occupation in each state to be compared. Record that on the “No Place Like Home” worksheet you printed off.

 

 

What Did I Learn?

How are different jobs comparable? Does living in a different part of the country make a big difference in the expected salaries for some occupations?
