Description:

Approximately 2,500 fourth graders from Omaha area schools tour the grounds at Ak-Sar-Ben during the 4-H Livestock Exposition in September (Dates will be announced later). Tour guides (4-Hers, 14 years and older) are to conduct tours. There are three days of tours; tour guides may lead tours one, two or all three days.

Objective:
1. To introduce fourth graders to livestock and 4-H.

2. To create an opportunity for 4-H'ers to develop leadership and communication skills and self confidence.

Who Can Apply:
Any 4-H'er from Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, Missouri, Colorado, or Wyoming who is 14 at the time of tours. Interested 4-H'ers should complete the application and return to the Douglas/Sarpy Extension Service by September 1. They will receive more information.

Staff Involvement:
To inform 4-H'ers of Ak-Sar-Ben tours and encourage them to apply.
