Recently the Butler County Youth Council (a group of 10 youth
from through out the county) has been working to redefine the Nebraska
law that deals with school permits. Specifically - to further define
the law to include school extra-curricular activities as an acceptable
use of the school permit. The group also proposed that with greater
privileges for the use of a school permit, they thought that more
restrictions in getting a school permit would be appropriate. The
group has worked with their coordinator, Amy Greenwood-Field, to
draft a bill that revises the current law.

Bromm introduced LB 1147 yesterday making revisions to the school
permit law.
