Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF)

Counties that are confirmed to participate in CWF 2008:

  • Lancaster
  • Custer

What is CWF?

A living and learning experience in citizenship.

Seeing, listening, learning, discussing and debating in workshops, seminars and field trips combine to provide a unique opportunity for using the nation's capital as a classroom. The program supplements the ongoing 4-H citizenship education programs and stimulates youth to search for solutions to contemporary issues, practice leadership skills, and plan for meaningful involvement with 4-H and community programs when they return home.

Educational Purpose:
To help youth ages 15 -19 who are 4-H members or teen leaders:

  • understand their rights and responsibilities as active, involved citizens
  • better understand the structures and functions of government
  • better appreciate our national heritage and culture
  • broaden their perception of international interdependence.

When:
From the 1st week in June through 2nd week in July a program begins each Sunday afternoon and ends on Saturday morning.
