Writing Your Senator

As a citizen you may contact your state senator about laws being considered by the Legislature, laws already in place or an idea for a new law. One of the best ways to contact your senator is through a letter. Below is a sample of the letter and envelope format that should be used when writing your senator.

Address the envelope to:

Senator (Senator's Last Name)
District Number
P.O. Box 94604
Lincoln, NE 68509

Remember to include your return address on the upper left hand corner of the envelope!

Your Address
City, State, Zip

Dear Senator (Last Name):

Write the body of your letter. Keep it short and to the point. Approximately three to four paragraphs. Rmemeber to thank the senator for his/her time.
