Air Pistol - Slow-Fire Bullseye

QUALIFICATIONS: Contestants must be enrolled in the 4-H Shooting Sports program for the current year.

AGE DIVISIONS: 

  • Sub-Junior (8-9 years of age)
  • Junior (10-11 years of age)
  • Intermediate (12-14 years of age)
  • Senior (15-18 years of age)

RULES: NRA International Style Pistol Rules (Most recent printing). Pistols can be either precision or sporter.

  1. Sub-Juniors (8-9 yr. olds) Seated rests the grip (and hands) on supporting material. Must have a coach.
  2. Juniors and Intermediates can be one hand supported (support must be counter balance type support) or unsupported. Coaching encouraged.
  3. Seniors must stand free, without support, completely within the firing point. The complete pistol must be held and fired with one hand only. Bracelets, wristbands, or similar items that might provide support is prohibited on the hand and arm which holds the pistol.
  4. A Junior or Intermediate must shoot unsupported one handed in order to win the top Overall Male or Overall Female Awards

EQUIPMENT: Air Pistol .177 Caliber Pellets only – Precision or Sporter.

COACHING: On line coaching for Junior, Sub-Junior, is allowed and encouraged.

TARGET: B-40/4 or Orion air pistol

DISTANCE: 10 meters or 33 feet

COURSE OF FIRE: 40 shots with 5 shots per bull.

TIME: 

  • 15 Minutes Unlimited Sighter
  • 60 Minutes for 40 record shots
