This month's Spark Start highlights September activities on CLOVER by 4-H that introduce youth to computer science and computational thinking through engaging, hands-on experiences that do not require a computer. These activities help participants connect everyday tasks and hobbies to important computer science concepts.

Through the Computer Science Unplugged activity, youth in grades 3–12 will explore computational thinking by relating activities such as games, cooking, gardening, and daily routines to the ways computers solve problems. Participants will discover that computer science is all around them while building STEM skills through fun, interactive challenges.

Participants will also strengthen their problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities as they complete a variety of computer science activities and work toward earning CLOVER achievements.

This month's Spark Start highlights July activities on CLOVER by 4-H that focus on life in space as an astronaut.

Through hands-on learning about growing food in outer space, operating lunar terrain vehicle, and experiencing a day in the life of astronaut, youth will join astronaut Isabella Hernandez on this journey.
