Frequently Asked Questions

What ages can attend?

• Big Red Camps are open to students entering 9th-12th grade during the 2026-27 academic school year. To ensure the best possible learning experience for students, some camps limit enrollment to students entering 10th-12th grade in the 2026-27 academic year.
   

What if I have special medical needs?

• Please notify the camp director by email at BigRedCamps@unl.edu to discuss individual needs and accommodations. 
   

What are the camp dates? (change from previous years)

• Check-in will be Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 5:00-6:30 p.m.
• Big Red Camps activities occur from June 7-12, 2026
• Check-out will be Friday, June 12, 2026, by 3:30 p.m.
   

What camp sessions are being offered this year?

Please visit 2026 Big Red Summer Academic Camp Sessions. Any changes to camp offerings based on enrollment will be made by May 1, 2026. If a camp is unfortunately cancelled, campers may transfer to a different camp or will be entitled to a full refund.
 

Can camp participants arrive early?

It may be possible to arrive one night early if arriving on Sunday, June 7, is not possible. Please contact the camp staff at BigRedCamps@unl.edu to discuss options. 
 

Is there transportation available from the airport to the camp?

Transportation from the Lincoln Airport in Lincoln, Nebraska, is available to campers at no charge. Please contact the camp staff at BigRedCamps@unl.edu to share flight details. Campers who choose to fly into Omaha Eppley Airport in Omaha, Nebraska, are encouraged to make arrangements with Omalink Shuttle Service for transportation to campus. Omalink is a safe, credible, and convention shuttle service frequetned by UNL faculty, students, and guests.
