Late Registration/Application Policy
To maintain the integrity, safety, and quality of National 4-H Shooting Sports events and trainings, all registration and application deadlines are strictly enforced. Timely registration is essential for proper planning related to equipment, volunteer staffing, facility needs, program quality, and youth safety protocols.
Registrations or Applications will not be accepted after the posted deadline unless a formal written request is submitted and approved by the National 4-H Shooting Sports Committee or designated representative.
Late Registration or Application Requests may be considered if:
- The delay was due to documented, extenuating circumstances (e.g., verified illness, technical error, natural disaster)
- There is sufficient space and capacity to safely accommodate additional participants or teams
- All required documentation, waivers, payments, and safety certifications can be submitted and verified within a compressed timeframe
- The formal written request is received within 48 hours of the registration or application deadline, emailed to coordinator@4-hshootingsports.org
Important Notes:
- Approval of late registration or application is not guaranteed and is reviewed on a case-by case basis
- If a registration or application fee is required, a late fee will be assessed
- Event materials (e.g., shirts, printed schedules, awards eligibility) may be limited or unavailable for late registrants/applications
- All participants must meet all eligibility and safety requirements in full — no exceptions
Late registration and application requests must be submitted in writing via email to the National 4-H Shooting Sports Program Coordinator at coordinator@4-hshootingsports.org. Early communication is strongly encouraged if issues arise prior to registration deadline.
Media Consent
Media consent will be completed by your State 4-H Shooting Sports Coordinator or designated person as a part of the online registration process. When your State 4-H Shooting Sports Coordinator, or designee, registers you for competition, you are agreeing to give the National Shooting Sports Committee, its partners, agents, and representatives to use, publish, and republish for purposes of advertising, public relations, trade, or any other lawful use – public information and photographs, film, audio/videotape, record and/or televise participant's image and/or voice for use in publications or promotional materials without any restrictions. You are waiving any right that you may have to inspect or approve the copy and/or the finished product(s) that may be used in connection therewith or the use to which it may be applied without any expectation of compensation. Media consent must be completed and submitted to your State Coordinator for each participant and coach. Since each state may have a different collection process, your State Coordinator will be communicating to you how your state will collect and submit to them Media Consent. A substitute/alternate must also complete a Media Consent to participate at the National Championships. In the event that an individual declines Media Consent, it will be the responsibility of the State Coordinator or designated person to inform the individual that they cannot participate in state team photos or any official awards ceremony photos taken during the current year’s event. In addition, an individual who declines Media Consent assumes personal responsibility as this event involves a large public presence as well as media representatives photographing at ranges and other activities associated with the National Championships.
T-Shirts
All registered participants and coaches will receive a complimentary t-shirt. T-shirts will be available for pickup at the registration office and must be picked up by 5:00 p.m. on the Monday of the event by the state designee.
All event volunteers who have officially registered online will receive a complimentary t-shirt. This might include state coordinators, parents, friends, or other family members who are officially registered as a volunteer and fulfill their volunteer obligations.
