The 4-H Robotics Showcase is an opportunity for 4-H members to showcase their Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) talents by presenting their robot design and programming skills to judges and members of the public. All 4-H members participating in the contest will have the ability to interact with the judges and run the programs on the robot exhibit.
Rules
- 4-H members may enter as an individual or as a team. A team consists of two - four individuals.
- 4 -H members should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your assigned time to set up.
- 4-H members must wear the State Fair 4-H t-shirt provided to them during the contest.
- All 4-H members participating in the contest participants must wear the official State Fair 4-H T-shirt. T-shirts will be provided at each contest check-in and are to be worn provided to them during the contest and awards.

4-H members must register on the state fair website by August 10th deadline.

Time slots will be determined following the advance entry deadline. Specific competition times may be requested, but cannot be guaranteed.
Eligibility
4-H member eligibility:
- Must be 8 years of age by January 1 of the current year.
- Must be enrolled in 4-H by the June 15 enrollment deadline.
- 4-H members are required to register on the state fair website by the August 10th deadline.
- 4-H members will be notified of the location of the contest prior to State Fair.
- General rules from the 4-H section of the Nebraska State Fair apply.

Classes
F500037 Robotics Video - This class should be displayed in a notebook. The notebook should include a video clip on a CD/DVD that demonstrates the robot performing the programmed function. Include your pseudo code and screenshots of the actual code with a written description of the icon/command functions. Entries should be submitted to https://go.unl.edu/2024nesfset by August 10th, or videos can be uploaded to a video streaming application and exhibitors MUST provide a hard copy QR code for viewing. 4-H members are encouraged to test their codes or links on several devices to check for appropriate permissions.
F500038 Build a Robot (may use kit) - Include a robot and notebook including the pseudocodes for at least one program you have written for the robot, the robots purpose, and any challenges or changes you would make in the robot design or programming. Junk Drawer Robotics do not qualify.
Special Awards
Ribbons will be awarded to each participant consistent with the Danish Award system of purple, blue, red, and white ribbons based on the judges rubric.
