Whether your classroom is in a school, cafeteria, gym, or living room, learning can happen anywhere. And Nebraska 4-H Youth Development is ready to help.
With a wide variety of program offerings for both in-school or out-of-school delivery, the following experiences are designed for groups of youth in school classrooms, home school co-ops, afterschool programs, and families looking for supplemental learning experiences.

All opportunities are supported by a statewide network of Nebraska Extension 4-H Youth Development faculty/staff, bringing the education of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln straight to your classroom.
Environmental Education
We're bringing Environmental Education to you! Choose from our menu of hands-on environmental education opportunities focused on topics including forest ecology, aquatics ecology, grassland ecology, environmental education 101, or STEAM activities!
Nanoscience
Nanoscience engages students through hands-on science experiments based on the world of small. As a course delivered through STEMentors, participants will have the opportunity to learn from a UNL undergraduate student majoring in a science-related field at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, as well as from an in-person teacher or frontline staff member.
Digital Storytelling
By imagining and writing a story with codes and assets in Scratch Jr., young students will build computational thinking skills . As a course delivered through STEMentors, participants will have the opportunity to learn from an University of Nebraska–Lincoln undergraduate student majoring in a science-related field at the University, as well as from an in-person teacher or frontline staff member.
Career Chat Live
Career Chat Live offers live, online career exploration opportunities. Each session focuses on a new set of careers. During each session, youth will get to meet workforce professionals in that career field. The youth will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in a small group conversation with guest speakers.
Living Room Learning
Living Room Learning offers free, hands-on, virtually guided activities for youth. Each session focused on a new activity that can be done with materials found at home.
Mapping Your Success
Each person has a different path that has to be managed individually to fit his or her unique situation. This program helps equip students to take initiative in building the path to help them succeed. Students will exit the course knowing more about themselves, how to be a successful student and employee, how to thrive in new environments with peers, colleagues, professors and what they can do now to get started after high school.
Explore Entrepreneurship
EVERYONE thinks and acts like an entrepreneur each day and we may not even realize it! Do you have problems at home or at school that you solve on your own? Do you research products at the store before you buy them? Do you have creative ideas? All of these are traits of an Entrepreneur. We are offering three live and engaging virtual entrepreneurship sessions for grades 3-8 where you will explore your passions, create prototypes for a product or idea, and connect your passions to your community. Join us for Exploring Entrepreneurship, Connecting Your Passions To Your Community, and Innovate and Create. All sessions are facilitated by members of the 4-H Youth Entrepreneurship and Business Opportunities Team.
Robotics
The EV3/NXT Robotics course taps into the imagination of students across Nebraka. During the course students use an EV3 or NXT Lego Robotics kit to build creative designs and solve complex challenges. Students will learn to think on their toes and program robots through a graphical interface called Mindstorms.
Computation Thinking
The ELO: Elementary- Computation thinking and computer science course teaches youth computer science skills. The students will learn how to tell stories through concepts such as coding, algorithms, and loops in the Coding Games for Kids and Scratch Jr. apps.
